SpiderManGeek Mask Design Variations

spidey masks

Found a great redesign of the Spiderman Mask by SpiderManGeek http://spidermangeek.deviantart.com/art/Spider-Man-Mask-Redesign-174895994 and thought I would ink it and do some different color variations. Top Left inked with classic weblines, top right movie ‘raised’ web lines Bottom – classic, symbiote, 2099 color schemes Spiderman is of course copyright Marvel

Spiderman – Wanted 1977

Well I finally got this finished (well as finished as it is going to be).  I was reminded the other week of going to see the original Spiderman movie (with Nicholas Hammond) back in 1977 and thought it would be fun to do a picture inspired by that movie costume. Wanted to capture that haunted/hunted [...]

Spider’s Eye View

Felt like doing a spidey sketch and was inspired by a pose I saw in a John Romita Jr drawing so I have tried to emulate it. This took about 1hour 15 – 20 mins in Sai simply because I wanted to get the pose right.

Outcast Studios – Live Draw Night – 25/09/2011 – Hour 4

Outcast Studios (home of the Deviant Daily Sketch Challenge) had a great little event this evening – a mock convention Artists Alley with appropriate fan request challenges. [link] The fourth hour challenge was a particularly fun one (despite my ongoing stomach pains) – recreate a comic cover but instead of the original subject(s) use one [...]

Sketch – Spiderman Costume Concepts

spidey_altcostumes

Just passing 10 minutes or so while waiting for my dinner, and thought I would have a go at a Spidey costume revamp like all the cool kids over at Marvel are doing these days.  Done over a DCUAnimated Male Teen Hero template. The one on the left is of course traditional Spidey coloring, just [...]

Itsy Bitsy Spider Climbed Up The Water Spout [Original Art: John Romita] Colored

Spiderman Romita Colored

Well this started out as a simple John Romita (Snr) drawing of the amazing Spider-Man. The original drawing simply showed the character crouching and a shadow. After coloring the image, I decided that Spider-Man would be crawling through a dank tunnel or sewer. I created this background using a combination of layers tweaked using the [...]

Fantastic Four with Black Panther and Spiderman [Original: Fred Hembeck] Colored

hembeck150smcolor

Fred Hembeck’s work on character recreations is just so much fun to look at and fun to color. Here is another from my expansive hard disk collection. Not sure where the black and white art was downloaded from (if anyone recognises the commission source please let me know and ill add details here).  I particularly [...]

Spidey-Man [Original Artwork: Chris Giarrusso] Colored

2002-cgiarrussospideymancolor

Was going through some old folders on my NAS and found this Chris Giarusso drawing of Spider Man. I thought it would make another great practice piece to get back into the swing of coloring etc. I am not sure when or where i downloaded it, but if you want to see more of Chris’ [...]

The Other (Colored) Art: Ringo/Kesels

theotherringokesel

Originally a black and white cover from one the “The Other” storyline issues, thought I would try my hand at coloring it. Artwork by Mike Wieringo, inked by Karl Kesels i think. I think some of the bruising looks pretty realistic.

Wanted to do a fun piece and found this sketch of Peter Porker wearing the spambiote costume over at Mike Weiringo’s website. I always loved Mike’s work and it is just a pleasure to colour. hope you like.
